Charm Alarm

Deborah:

I know where you been but where're you comin' from?
I got eyes in the back of my head

Miss Guy:

I'm drinkin' my drink of glamour and damage, seduction and piss elegance

Deborah:

Oh, you're a dainty jewel hooked on a chain
A souvenir of some other time

Miss Guy:

What we don't remember just didn't happen
There's a feeling at the base of my spine

Deborah:

The room is gettin' crowded and it's gettin' worse
If you get much closer well, you could get hurt

You're settin' off my charm alarm
You're gettin' closer and I'm gettin' warm
Settin' off my charm alarm
Who set ringing my charm alarm?

Deborah & Miss Guy:

Charm alarm, my charm alarm, my charm alarm
Charm alarm, my charm alarm, my charm alarm
Charm alarm, my charm alarm, my charm alarm
Charm alarm, my charm alarm, my charm alarm

Deborah:

Don't be lookin' at Medusa's head
She'll stone your bones and leave you dead
A little bit of blind-man's-bluff will pop you up like a powder puff

Miss Guy:

We're two cool numbers in the heat at night
I've got it wrong
Do you got it right?
I'm breakin' the glass
Got you in mind
Let's do it again

Deborah & Miss Guy:

Stop - rewind

Deborah:

You're settin' off my charm alarm
You're gettin' closer and I'm gettin' warm
Settin' off my charm alarm
Who set ringing my charm alarm?

Deborah & Miss Guy:

Charm alarm, my charm alarm, my charm alarm
Charm alarm, my charm alarm, my charm alarm
Charm alarm, my charm alarm, my charm alarm
Charm alarm, my charm alarm, my charm alarm

Miss Guy:

I know where you been but where're you comin' from?

But there's a feeling at the base of my spine

The room is gettin' crowded and it's gettin' worse

You're gettin' closer and I'm gettin' warm
Settin' off my charm alarm

quoted from the VH1.com article 'Deborah Harry: Track by Track':

"This song came about because I did a remake of "In the Flesh" that was produced by Guy Furrow from the Toilet Boys -- that was the first time that I ever worked with Guy and Guy introduced me to Barb and Charlie, my producers. So later on Guy does some night as a DJ called Charm School, so I said to him "I want to do a song, 'Charm Alarm,' and then you and I could do it as a duet and we'll perform it at the club." Just for fun really, so we went in and we came up with this song."
