A Jackie 60 Christmas with “War of the Worlds”
December 10, 2009
“New York nightlife impresarios Chi Chi Valenti and Johnny Dynell created the collaborative producing organization, The Jackie Factory at the legendary Jackie 60, and currently produce dozens of events a year in venues that range from The Coney Island Mermaid Parade to the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue.
The team presents their own, inimitable version of War of the Worlds with vampish Jackie Christmas favorites, the Dueling Bankheads (Clark Render and David Ilku), vocal legend Deborah Harry, Method great Hattie Hathaway, special appearances by Alba Clemente and DJ Jeannie Hopper, and of course the great Empress Chi Chi herself. This very special holiday edition includes musical selections by International Chrysis, Kiki & Herb, Blondie and the club land holiday classic Frosty The Cokewhore, performed by the Dueling Bankheads.”

‘Being Blondie’ exhibition
Proud Camden presents ‘Being Blondie’, a collection of Debbie Harry images by Brian Aris. The exhibition, which runs in London from December 8 until January 11, will showcase some rare and unseen portraits.
“As Blondie celebrates twenty-five years since their inception, Proud Camden presents Being Blondie: Debbie Harry by Brian Aris, a revealing collection of images specially selected from the archive of celebrated photographer Brian Aris, focusing on their leading lady, Deborah Harry.
Pioneers of American new wave and punk rock, Blondie‟s liberal performance rituals and intoxicating stage presence translate beautifully into Aris‟ studio shots. His expert precision and attention to detail provide a visual context for the band‟s innovative experimentation in punk rock, new wave, disco and hip hop.
With her two-tone bleached-blonde hair, and cutting edge style Harry quickly became a legendary pop icon and the face of the band. Her stage persona of cool sexuality was notorious and she can undoubtedly be seen to have shaped the direction of a generation. Aris was responsible for many of the photographs which helped to cement Harry’s international iconic status, leading to her reputation as new wave’s answer to Marilyn Monroe.
Aris says ‘I have been blessed to have worked so many times with not only such a beautiful looking woman but someone who has become an icon all over the World. Debbie has crossed over three decades of the music business and her appeal is as strong today as it ever was.’
Showcasing rare and never before seen images from Brian Aris‟ unrivaled archive, this exhibition is a must see for photography and music fans alike.”
