Pictures of Debbie’s performance at the Rainforest Fund’s 21st Birthday Celebration Benefit last night can be found at gettyimages.com and wireimage.com. The two songs performed by Debbie were “The Tide Is High” and “Call Me.” Later during the show she joined Sting, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Shirley Bassey and Bruce Springsteen for the final song of the evening “Don’t Stop Believin’.” A video of the performance was posted on YouTube.

Debbie will perform at the Rainforest Fund’s 21st Birthday Celebration Benefit concert at the Carnegie Hall on May 13. Other artists to perfom include Sting, Elton John, Lady Gaga and Dame Shirley Bassey.
Tickets can be purchased through the Carnegie Hall box office.

Woodstock Day School benefit

Radio Woodstock is hosting a benefit concert for the Woodstock Day School. The show at the Bearsville Theater on May 28 will feature members of Blondie (Deborah Harry, Chris Stein, Matt Katz-Bohen), as well as Tracey Bonham, Happy Traum, Jerry Marotta, David Van Tieghem, Alex Belmont, Peter Dougan and The Woodstock Day School Rock Ensemble .
Tickets are $40 for standing-room and lounge, $50 for reserved seating and $100 for golden circle seating (first five rows, plus VIP reception and champagne).
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday through www.wdst.com. Woodstock-based WDST (100.1 FM) VIP members can purchase their tickets on Friday already.

At Honoring with Pride, amfAR celebrates the work and vision of those individuals who have played a significant role in the gay and lesbian community’s historic response to the AIDS crisis. With featured appearances, key note speeches, and hosting duties by many notables, including Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Meryl Streep, Kathy Bates, Liza Minnelli, B.D. Wong, and Cyndi Lauper, the evening has honored such figures as Harvey Fierstein, the Honorable James C. Hormel, Kiehl’s Since 1851, Tony Kushner, Larry Kramer, Jerry Mitchell, Liz Smith, Andy Tobias, and Urvashi Vaid. The benefit party is one of the premiere events during New York City’s Pride Month.

A cover version of Blondie’s hit “Call Me” performed by Franz Ferdinand can be found on the charity sampler “War Child: Heroes.”
“We asked 15 ultimate icons to select a favourite song from their classic back catalogue and to nominate the new act they most trust to create a unique interpretation of that hand-picked track. [...]
War Child is a charity that works with children whose lives are torn apart by conflict in some of the world’s most dangerous war zones.”
The album was released in the UK by Parlophone and internationally by EMI on February 16. The song can be heard on Blondie’s Myspace page.
