No real news but a little summary of what we already know about the new Blondie album (updated on May 22).

  • will be released in the fall (around September)
  • Blondie worked with The Killers’ producer Jeff Saltzman
  • mixed by Mark Needham
  • artwork (painting) by Dutch artist Chris Berens
  • various guest artists
  • will contain around 15 tracks (probably less)
  • 3-4 cover songs
  • 1 song in French, 2 in Spanish
  • most of the English lyrics written by Debbie
  • sounds like Blondie/different styles/rock, a little “on the dark side”
  • the title of the album is “Panic Of Girls”
  • four song titles have been announced: “D-Day”, “What I Heard” , “End Of The World” & “Le Bleu à l’âme”

Debbie contributes two songs, ‘Lucky Jim’ and ‘Free To Walk’ (with Nick Cave), to the ‘We Are Only Riders – The JLP Sessions Project’, a tribute to the late Gun Club frontman Jeffrey Lee Pierce.
All the tracks are recordings of previously unfinished songs.

A cover version of Blondie’s hit “Call Me” performed by Franz Ferdinand can be found on the charity sampler “War Child: Heroes.”
“We asked 15 ultimate icons to select a favourite song from their classic back catalogue and to nominate the new act they most trust to create a unique interpretation of that hand-picked track. [...]
War Child is a charity that works with children whose lives are torn apart by conflict in some of the world’s most dangerous war zones.”
The album was released in the UK by Parlophone and internationally by EMI on February 16. The song can be heard on Blondie’s Myspace page.

Debbie will be featured on one track of Fall Out Boy’s brand new album ‘Folie A Deux’ (in stores in the first week of November). 
“Bassist/band spokesperson Pete Wentz has also name dropped a few surprising artists who will appear on the disc. Wentz told MTV News that Rap superstar Lil Wayne makes a cameo on the record, while Pharrell Williams produced one of the new tracks. However, Wentz also revealed that Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry has recorded something for the record too.”
